It never ceases to amaze me that besides our parents, what an enduring influence teachers and coaches have on many of our future successes and failures in life. For me, wrestling and Coach Polito prepared me for many of my future challenges. He taught me to stick it out, to persevere by sheer will and determination, and to overcome adversity. These proved to be valuable lessons that I will always be grateful for.
It's unfortunate that I never had the opportunity to thank him in person.
