Paramus High School Alumni Association Established

The first board of trustees is pleased to announce the establishment of the Paramus High School Alumni Association, a New Jersey nonprofit corporation. An alumni association was a dream held for many years by Ken Tashian, Class of 1964, a lifelong Spartan. Sadly, Ken didn’t realize his dream before his untimely passing in May 2021. Several Class of 1974 alumni have joined the effort to fulfill Ken’s dream.

Even though Ken lived in Novato, California for many years, his heart and love of Paramus, Paramus High School, and his classmates was never far away. He was in the Gymnastics and Lettermen's Club, on the football and track teams, and as wrestling team Co-Captain, he reached regional finals and was a gold medalist in the Bergen County Wrestling Tournament. Ken organized many class reunions, and was the creator of the ParamusSpartans.net website where all Spartans can network, connect, memorialize classmates who have passed, find class pictures, sports history, info on the Athletic Hall of Hame inductees, download yearbooks, and explore PHS and Paramus history.

Our mission is to preserve and promote fellowship among present and future alumni, and to support and strengthen the school’s educational mission for the benefit of its current students. The goals of the Association are:

• To maintain a comprehensive database of all alumni
• To maintain an online presence via the website and social media regarding significant events in the lives of alumni and faculty and the history of the PHS community
• To assist with the promotion of reunions
• To provide undergraduate scholarships - The Ken Tashian Memorial Scholarship established. Dontations are appreciated.
• To recognize the achievements of alumni who have made significant contributions to the community

The Association can serve as your conduit to notify your graduation class of reunions, and sharing class pictures and other information of interest to all graduates of PHS.

Please encourage your classmates to join the ParamusSpartans.net website; there are currently over 2,500 registered classmates and 22,000 graduates listed. It’s simple, secure, and there is no cost to register. Your information is only available to other registered alumni.
