Ellen and I grew up across the street from each other on Clinton Road. We knew each other since fourth grade.

Ellen was forever upbeat and smiling. She never had anything but good words to say about anyone. We last chatted last year at our "Delford Park" reunion when the "second generation" of that "Development" centered around Clinton Road, children who all arrived in Paramus with our parents around 1956, held a get together to celebrate our friendship of over 50 years. We all knew how ill Ellen was at the time but she was there lending her smile and good wishes to all.

We were all neighbors, all moving from New York to Paramus at about the same time. We all became an extended "family" always looking out for each other and our doors were always open. Ellen was a major part of that family. I will sorely miss her.

Ellen and I shared a memorable moment in 5th grade at Memorial School when we presented a Hansel and Gretel skit to the class.  Thereafter just for fun we would sometimes call each other “Hansel” and “Gretel.”   Ellen was a wonderfully kind, thoughtful, and sweet person.
