After one year at Manhattan College, I dropped out and joined the Marines to beat the draft, went back to college for a year, worked in Alaska, went back to college for nursing. I'm now living in Owego, NY near Binghamton. On the Susquehanna River and can still hear Rt 17 from my house, just like I could in Paramus. Semi-retired, but my
401 k retired before I did, so I'm looking around for something. Have two wonderful children, even if they don't call home often. I have traveled cross country on Green Tortoise Adventure Tours, http://www.greentortoise.com/, with my kids and on a trip to Alaska with them camping and scaring bears away. There are some more stories, like how I joined the Reserves and went to Iraq for Desert Storm.
Hey, how about a class trip cross country with Green Tortoise? It's would be fun!
One of my favorite school storeis happened in 1966. I was to enter the military in June 1966 and Bob Timmons thought a send off was in order. A long drive in his 1957 Ford was his idea of a send off. So he, Jim Merrill and I took a drive to Niagra Falls, driving non stop for 36-48 hours in Bob's 1957 Ford. It was very hot on the way back and east of Elmira we spotted an outdoor swimming pool at the Red Jacket Motel. Bob parked the car on the shouler of the road, we all ran to the pool, jumped in, jumped out and ran back to the car. Refreshed we continued on the next 6 or 8 hour to Paramus.
